@jvforever72 avoid them totally we can’t – I agree. Digging hundreds of miles beneath the water, stretching our technological capability to the limit to get that last drop of oil isn’t exactly avoiding anything – it’s plain stupid.
I feel, after watching Michael Ruppert’s “Collapse” and “A Crude Awakening” that we are way past the limit in what oil in particular and energy in general are concerned.

Every element in the universe is toxic at certain levels or in combination with other elements. The responsible utilization of these elements is of paramount importance but we can’t avoid them totally , they were here way before us.

I agree, it was irresponsible for people to terrify the general public without genuine facts, or at the very least half truths and innuendo.
That was the genuine disaster, not so much the spill but certain persons reaction to it and their claims of an imminent apocalypse.
That’s not to say it wasn’t a disaster, but it was made to seem at least temporarily catastrophic because of the rantings of people who see the world ending at every turn.
According to the conspiracy crowd logic, Matt Smith should be the next one to die under “mysterious” circumstances.
I swear, i feel like i’m in the middle of a Resident Evil movie and BP is really the Umbrella corporation, next thing we’ll hear is how they are experimenting with dna mutations. Can zombies be far behind.

No one knows how many died after cleaning up from the Valdez spill. That is an out and out lie. Do you really think Exxon kept in touch with everyone that helped with the clean up?? lol Give me a break… I have relatives that were in Alaska that worked clean up and they are doing fine.. Think about what you say before you speak facts?? No statistics were ever kept on the people that worked the oil spill just as they are not now …
